Poem: Brand new chapter

Earth opens up a brand new chapter

The future predates any captor

It's around every corner, got and trapped ya

Ain't no way you can sort it with a tractor

You might give up all your time, but you don't hafta -[have to] You be feeling every rhyme, but can't find laughter

Ain't no shelter keep us dry, they're all just rafters

don't just sit around and cry, cause death'll have ya

Could all this really just pass by?

I haven't asked ya yet

I really wanna try

But most days I'm too depressed

I know that we could fly

Only if we don't forget

The lessons learned as we pass by

All of the moments we regret

Don't forget, have respect

For lessons coming today

Get impressed, not upset

'Cause challenge evolves the way

Never-the-less, it's a stress

When you're caught in the pain

When all's a mess, you must address

Or suffer circular strains

Own up I've said before

and I can say it some more

I can show you, but only you

Can make you walk through the door

This question before you lays the floor

"What do you want to be here for?"

The answer will grow as you grow more

Tending to what you know is stepping through the door
